When I decided to make a beet hummus, even I thought.. ummmm yeah, this will probably be gross... but I’ll try anyway. And I love beets!But it surprised me. It’s. SO. GOOD! It may look intimidating, but it is savory, sweet, vinegary, creamy and fluffy in texture and absolutely beautiful. I’ve been eating it by the spoonful, spreading it on toasted sourdough with tons of black pepper, and dipping veggies in it.Give it a shot! Don’t be scared. Beets are friends. 🤗😂

We're Back!
Surprise! We have a (sort of) new name and we're back making vegan food for Iowa! Pre-ordering is now live on our website for our first pop-up! Local pick-up will be available in Des Moines next Monday 11/16 between 5-6:30 pm. For those of you who don't know me, I'm Madeline — the chef and co-owner of New World Café — Des Moines' first all-vegan restaurant. New World Kitchen is a continuation of that project in meal-prep format, with many customer favorite dishes returning. Check out a photo of the Smoky Mac below!
