Happy New Year! I can't wait to get back in the kitchen with the NWK team after two weeks off. It’s been years since we've taken this much time away, but it gave me time to rest and to work on new recipes, which was the perfect balance. 

Before we get to the menu, we have some important changes for 2026:

1. Our pick up window is now 4-6 pm Monday

After a few years of doing pick ups from 4-6:30, we’ve noticed the majority of you come in the first two hours. Because of this, we’re narrowing our pick up window to 4-6 pm.

If you’re someone who cannot make it until after 6 pm on Mondays– don’t worry! Just send us a text, and I’ll send over a few options.

2. Our pre-ordering window for fresh items is now closing at 5 pm Thursday, instead of midnight

Pre-ordering will continue to open by the beginning of the day Monday. Some frozen items may continue to be available through the end of the day Thursday, but no fresh items will be available after 5 pm. This will give me some much needed extra time to plan our busy weekends in the kitchen.

3.We are now almost fully plastic-free, and you can drop our containers off at The Refill Market to be composted!

We’re continuing to replace all plastic with compostable containers. Note that our clear two-serving salad containers and the small clear hinged containers we use for dressings, spreads, and protein cups are compostable (they look like plastic, but they aren’t!) 

The Refill Market (2701 Ingersoll Ave, Des Moines, IA 50312) has a commercial compost bin. You can drop any of our empty compostable containers off to the owner Amanda in store during open hours, and she will compost them for you. Bring some empty jars, and check out her great pricing on bulk vegan pantry staples while you're at it!
