12 Years of Eating Vegan

Madeline Krantz

June marks my 12 year vegan anniversary! This old selfie is from when I lived in NC & volunteered at an animal sanctuary ❤️

The reason I’m vegan is simple - it has never resonated with me to commodify & consume other animals. It’s a privilege to make this choice, and I’m grateful I live this way.

Over these years, I’ve eaten lots of processed frozen vegan food & accidentally vegan snacks and candy. I’ve also been a green juice, high raw food vegan, and have gone through periods of being restrictive with the foods I eat. And everything in between. I’m continually learning to find balance, and am here to tell you it isn’t about being pure and clean, and it doesn’t have to be faux meats for every meal either. It can be whatever you want it to be.

If you have no interest in eating a meal without animal products, it isn’t my job to convince you. I have a deep belief that animals are not here on this planet for me. But I know some have the exact opposite belief, that animals are here just for us. We’re on our own distinct journeys, and no one is wrong for being exactly where they are.

The other week a customer reached out to say NWK has made their family’s transition to veganism a positive and exciting one that opened their minds to the versatility of plants, instead of being stressful or confusing. This means so much to me, & I’m here to offer support if you need it.

If you’re already vegan, or your path leads you here ten years from now - beautiful. But even if you have no interest in cutting out animal products, if you try our food with an open mind, you’ll be able to find something on our large rotating menu that you enjoy incorporating into your life. Our food is for you too.

If you made it this far, and you’ve never pre-ordered from us, I would love to offer you a discount for 12% off your first order. First time customers can enter the code NWKNEWBIE at checkout. I promise we’ll make your life more delicious, & pick up/delivery will be a breeze, so you won’t have to worry about a thing. We’d love to share some food with you. ❤️
